Nicolette Springer, candidate for Orange County Commission District 4, has gained the support of several local leaders. The most recent being State Representative Carlos Guillermo Smith. Smith, who represents FL District 49 and has been a champion for LGBT rights and progressive values in Tallahassee, stated, “I’m proud to endorse Nicolette Springer for Orange County Commission. As a thirteen year resident of District 4, she understands the needs of her community.” Smith goes further to add, “Nicolette’s expertise in criminal justice and her commitment to smart growth and environmental sustainability proves that she will be a champion for progressive values at the local level. I’m excited to throw my support behind her and to start knocking on doors together!”
Nicolette Springer, a District 4 resident of 13 years, offered the following statement in response, “I’m privileged to have the support of Representative Carlos Guillermo Smith. Representative Smith is a proven champion for our community’s working families.” Springer further adds. “His continuing pledge to fight for equality, gun safety, and healthcare issues impacting Orange County residents at both the county and state level is inspiring. We are incredibly lucky to have Carlos as a champion for progressive values in Tallahassee and I’m honored to have his endorsement.”Nicolette Springer is running to fill Jennifer Thompson’s term limited seat on the Orange County Commission. Five candidates including Springer have qualified to be on the ballot. Election day is August 28th with a potential run off November 6th.
