Tampa, Florida – Ruth’s List Florida, the state’s only resource dedicated to recruiting and aiding Democratic women candidates, announced its endorsement of first-time candidate Nicolette Springer in the Orange County Commission District 4 race, lauding her ongoing commitment to stand up for Florida women and families. Springer earned her Master’s degree in criminal justice and has used her knowledge of science and data to make sound decisions in both short and long term progress.
“Nicolette has been a fearless advocate for children’s health, as well as for gender equality, women’s rights, and health care for all,” said Marley Wilkes, Ruth’s List Florida Executive Director. “The Ruth’s List community – now tens of thousands of members strong – is excited to support her candidacy.”
Nicolette, a criminologist and educator who is herself a mother of two daughters, stated, "I’m honored to receive the endorsement from Ruth’s List because of its work in holding Florida leaders accountable and standing up for women’s issues. Ruth’s List has been a model for women candidates throughout the state. My campaign is grounded in the belief that Orange County government should be accountable to its citizens and considerate of its resources. In doing so, I want to make sure everyone’s voice is heard and we all receive the same access to opportunity."
