The Lake Nona Democrats recently hosted a Panel Discussion on "Gun Violence in Today’s World". This encouraged a timely conversation about what is happening from the local level to the state level, concerning the safety of our families and communities. The issues were discussed in detail in front of a large crowd of concerned citizens and residents who wanted to know what is being done to prevent gun violence in Orange County. Audience members were invited to ask questions and participate by sharing their concerns and comments. The discussion was informative, respectful and well attended.

The panelists included Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings, District 2 School Board member Darryl FLynn, Moms Demand Action Orlando Chapter Leader Andrea Halperin and District Director for Congressman Darren Soto, Alex Barrio. The panel was moderated by Orange County Commission District 4 Candidate Nicolette Springer and Lake Nona High School student Rania Soufny.

The panel was held in Lake Nona’s Village Walk Community Center on Wednesday March 7th, 2018.
